Mr. Robinson!s Neighborhood is set to release in June of 2008, just 10 months after his
junior production, Hustlenomics. After establishing an international fan base, Joc can
envision the world as his neighborhood and he plans to take his hood to the world.
Aside from typical record promotions such as listening parties, radio and television
interviews, print ads, and billboards, Yung Joc plans to host Mr. Robinson Challenges
nationwide taking the Atlanta hood cross-country with celebrity vs. youth challenges and
“block party” style barbecues.
Yung Joc expects nothing short of the same success as his inaugural album, New Joc
City, which entered into Billboard!s #1 spot on its “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” and “Top
Rap Albums” charts. “It!s Goin! Down,” the hit street anthem from his RIAA platinumcertified
debut album, topped the #1 spot on Billboard!s “Hot Rap Tracks” chart and #3
on Billboard's “Hot 100” and proved to be a mainstream breakthrough selling 5 million
ringtones. Yung Joc was Warner Music Group's #1 mobile artist for 2006. In early 2007,
the track received one of music's highest nods - a Grammy Awards nomination as "Best
Rap Song.”
Additional accolades for Yung Joc!s career include:
"It's Going Down" - BET named "Hip-Hop Track of the Year" at the inaugural BET Hip-
Hop Awards event;
MySpace's #1 artist for most of Summer 2006;
“1st Time” (Feat. Marques Houston and Trey Songz) - Reached top 20 of Billboard’s Hot
Rap Tracks;
“I Know You See It” - Climbed to #2 spot on Billboard’s Hot Rap Tracks;
"Coffee Shop (Feat. Gorilla Zoe)" - #1 "Most Played" clip on BET;
“Buy U A Drank” - T-Pain ( Feat. Yung Joc) - "Song of the Year" nomination from the
2007 VH1 Soul Vibe Awards;
"Show Stopper" - Danity Kane (Feat. Yung Joc) - Peaked at #8 on Billboard’s Hot 100
Chart;
"Zoom" - Lil' Boosie (Feat. Yung Joc) top 20 hip-hop hit.
Yung Joc has collaborated with a plethora of industry greats such as the Neptunes,
Chris Flash, Cool & Dre, Jazze Pha, Kevin "Khao" Cates, Drumma Boy, Dee Jay Dana,
Russell "Block" Spencer, Diddy, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Trick Daddy, Bun B, Rick
Ross, Jim Jones, Young Dro, and Pharrell.
Yung Joc learned from his father the important messages of running and manhandling a
business as well as establishing a credible name on the streets. Owner of a hair-care
products company, he gave Yung Joc his first break, writing a jingle for the Revlon
company. As a teenager, Joc pressed on through high school all the while searching for
his own unexampled voice apart from the already established hip hop movements
taking center stage in Atlanta. He formed his own company, Mastermind in order to
breathe his own unique voice into the musical symbolism of Atlanta!s southern-minded
hoods. In early 2006, Joc met Russell “Block” Spencer, and the hit single,”It!s Goin!
Down” was picked up and released by Block Entertainment clearly putting the "hood
genius! on the path of grinding toward becoming today!s Yung Joc with an international
fan base. In addition to the success of New Joc City, which sold more than one million
copies and exploded as #1 on Billboard’s "Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums" and "Top Rap
Albums" charts, Joc also was listed in Forbes Magazine as one of the country!s highest
earning rappers. Mr. Robinson!s Neighborhood is Yung Joc!s third turn to epitomize his
experience as an Atlanta native with a hustler!s heart.
In addition to Yung Joc!s planned nationwide celebrity vs. youth challenges and “block
party” style barbecues, he has also contributed tremendously to his Atlanta hometown
hosting various community appearances including a mini-tour of several Atlanta area
schools giving speeches to encourage Atlanta youth to follow their dreams and
ambitions. To benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, Yung Joc attended the Ed
Hardy!s “Fashion for a Cause 08” evening of fashion and entertainment. In August of
2008 Yung Joc had the pleasure of being an honorary host at the mayor of Atlanta!s
Democratic National Convention Send-Off celebration.
