Dressed In Splendor

I will forever remember the day my mother positioned me in front of her bedroom mirror and made me sing the song "I am somebody because God loves me" to myself. It felt silly and embarrassing, but years later it still sticks with me. We hear the phrase 'Jesus loves you' all the time. Maybe we even tell it to ourselves over and over trying to convince our hearts that it is true. The real question is, why does our heart need convincing when it is clearly apparent that He does. When His word says things like "He will rejoice over you with singing" and "I have engraved you on the palm of my hands" and "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" That sure sounds like someone in love to me! That is not why I opened this shop originally, but it is why I am keeping it open. Because I want to make things to remind you of His love for you. To remind all of us that He wants a deep and meaningful relationship with us. And furthermore to spread the word that God is Love. Will a tshirt make you a genuine Christian? No. Could a can cozy change someones life? Maybe. But is it ok to treat myself and buy something that reminds me I'm loved? Yes, it really is. While you are at it, why not bless someone with a gift to brighten their day as well? Me? I am a work in progress. A person learning to trust the God who loves her and believe He has dressed her in Splendor she cannot see. Whatever profit that comes from this shop I have chosen to give to charities fighting human-trafficking. I am blessed with all that I need and want to do something to help others in worse situations than I have ever experienced.
