Nikola Tesla has vastly contributed to the advancement of the 20th century and propelled us forward at high speed with his futuristic mind and inventions. He is the discoverer of fine electrical apparatus and genius inventor, who brought us, among other inventions, the famous electromagnetic alternative current motor, first built in the town of Strasbourg, France. The motor, was used in power plants to distribute alternative current. With the usage of AC, less power plants needed to be built in long distances thus severely competing with Edison's DC where plants had to be built every 2 miles or so. Tesla is also best known for the transformer Tesla Coil, radio, and remote control apparatus. At last Tesla, humanitarian, wanted the world to have free electricity and built the Wardenclyffe Tower to achieve just that, the tower was half way built and destroyed due to lack of funding, leaving the inventor with deep emotional wounds.
