New Day Gardens Gifts is a gift store featuring products embellished with the photographs of the garden's owner, hybridizer, photographer, and chief go-for, Debra Scott. This store allows you to share some of the extraordinary beauty of New Day Gardens from anywhere and during all seasons. New Day Gardens is a small garden & nursery in Colorado. It began with a passion for color in my perennial gardens. While designing a new landscape in the rough Colorado climate, I was impressed by how well iris and daylilies perform here. As I looked for more flowers I soon discovered that, with God’s help, I could make my own daylilies and iris. It is incredible to wake up on a summer morning to see a new seedling bloom and realize that nobody else in the entire world has ever seen a flower exactly like that one before. In short order my collecting and hybridizing of these amazing plants became a passion. Then came my introduction to the wonderful people who make up the American Hemerocallis Society (AHS) and the American Iris Society (AIS). I have always loved sinking my fingers into the earth. I honestly cannot remember ever being without a garden. I first began photographing garden subjects at the age of five. Garden photography has been a life-long passion. My hybridizing goals are to create dramatic flowers that provide long season color and that are cold hardy, drought tolerant, and solid garden performers. I have served as a garden judge, a newsletter editor, and a regional president for the AHS. I am a member of the AIS, and of the Historic Iris Preservation Society.
