Monkey and Apple is a sketch channel on Youtube that was founded in 2007 by Raul Lezcano as an outlet for his unique and varied brand of comedy. Since then, the videos have reached a combined total of over 26 Million views and over 39,000 subscribers. The most popular video to date is “The Dark Knight –Joker Interrogation Scene Spoof”, which alone has over 15 Million views, has been featured on TV shows such as “Worlds Funniest Moments” and is also currently being seen in hotels across the country as part of The Hotel Networks in room entertainment program titled “Do Not Disturb”. The Dark Knight video has also been featured in newspapers in England and here in America. The videos are produced completely independently by Raul and his girlfriend Kate. They work with whatever means they have. No big budgets, no flashy, expensive cameras that make substandard content “Look” pretty. It’s intelligent, well written comedy that isn’t hard to “get”. It’s, simply put, just funny.
