It’s been just over 2 years since Hurricane Dorian took a direct hit on Elbow Cay in the Bahamas and destroyed much of the infrastructure of Hope Town Settlement, including Hope Town Primary School. Through the resilience of so many of the local community, along with the generosity of outside donors, during a Pandemic, we are happy to report that the school has been rebuilt. The official ribbon cutting ceremony took place on May 4, 2021 and was well attended. Just to see the faces of the parents, teachers, students and alumni who were present for this special day was priceless. But there are still several items needed for the school before its re-opening in September. There are still many items needed such as furniture, supplies and technology, prior to opening back up in September. We are so excited to offer (6) new prints to our “Hope Town ABC” collection The first two are of the “NEWLY RE-BUILT” Hope Town Primary School. These were actual photos personally taken of both the front and back of the school the beginning of May. Through a design application we were able to make them “art like”. From many different designs these were the two prints that Justin (Principal of Hope Town Primary School) and Amanda Higgs picked. In addition, Bessie Lowe, a life long Hope Town resident and alumni of Hope town Primary has generously shared four of her original paintings. In purchasing all of our items you are supporting the community and the children of Hope Town, who are our future!!
