Long an avid fan of the Delaware coast and all that it has to offer, Bill (of Bill Swartwout Photography) felt there was interest in the "Ghost Towers" along the shore. His photographs from today help to tell the story of what they stood for when they were first built over seven decades ago to assist the 261st Coast Artillery in defending Delaware Bay, including Wilmington and Philadelphia, from enemy incursion during World War II.
