I have been creating art for most of my life in one way or another. My mother was my first art teacher and inspiration. She taught me many important lessons but mostly that I can follow my dreams. In elementary school I loved to draw and doodle, however, my formal art training began in college where I earned a BFA with an emphasis in Printmaking. I found myself staying connected to the art world by working in art galleries, picture framing and even painting murals for local businesses. By chance, I fell into a part time art teacher position at a small school. It quickly turned full time and after a year of teaching, I went back to school to earn a teaching certificate and then a Master degree in the art of Education. After 18 years of being an art educator, I am ready to continue my creative journey and share my art with as many people as I can. Earth Studio Arts was born out of a desire to be an advocate for our planet Earth. To bring awareness to the beauty of nature and all that it offers. My online gallery features my original designs in block printing, watercolors and acrylic paintings. As a maker and a creative, i believe that creativity and the arts matter and are important in maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
