Before I opened Soleful Movement, I spent months jumping from idea to idea and starting projects only to lose interest before seeing any results. Given my history, opening a store that catered to dancers should've been the obvious choice from the beginning and I'm surprised that it wasn't. I took my first dance class at 5 years old, fell in love, and didn't look back. For nearly twenty years my life was a whirlwind of dance classes 6 days a week, competitions, recitals, conventions, exams, and school of course, and the odd bit of homework. Dance was everything to me, I lived for it, so naturally I planned on pursuing a career as a teacher or auditioning for a company after high school. Life, of course, rarely goes according to plan. It changes and we change along with it. Our priorities change, along with our passions, dreams, responsibilities, and who we are as people. It's been over a decade since I stepped foot in a dance studio or on a stage. But of all the things I am today, I will always be a dancer at heart. I design with dancers in mind, but also for dance moms, dance enthusiasts, and for those who dance when no one is watching because a good song is playing and they can't help it. I design for those who haven't danced in years, little ballerinas, late starters, and those who simply love the art, I believe there's a dancer in everyone. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you found something that speaks to the dancer in you.
