Unicorns from Heaven

"His horns are like the horns of unicorns." -Deuteronomy 33:17. Though unicorns are commonly classed with the "magical animals," biblically, they are described by name here and there in the King James Version. Unicorns were painted boarding Noah's Ark in Medieval artworks. There is a lot of talk about whether unicorns ever existed in some form and became extinct, and something of a disagreement as to whether they belong in paganism or the amidst the winged steeds in the vault of heaven. I like the heavenly classification of the unicorn, long associated in my Sunday School memories of Noah's Ark and the rainbow, signs and portents from the Creator of all. As one of my teachers frequently said, "Whether it's true or not, it's nice to think that Heaven is there."
