Among the countless Necron dynasties that spanned the galaxies, one stood out in particular—the Dynasticus Thanatorum. This dynasty was unlike any other, for its ruling Phaeron, known as Xereth the Undying, possessed a unique ability to forge a connection between his consciousness and those of his subjects. Through an ancient and forbidden ritual, Xereth created an intergalactic hive mind, merging the collective consciousness of his entire Necron civilization. The hive mind was a wondrous and terrifying entity. It allowed for instantaneous communication and coordination among the Necron forces, transcending the limitations of time and space. With a single thought, Xereth could issue commands to his entire civilization, directing the collective might of the Necrons across the stars. Under Xereth's guidance, the intergalactic hive mind embarked on a relentless campaign of conquest. World after world fell before the unstoppable forces of the Necrons. Planets were reduced to lifeless husks, their resources harvested to fuel the insatiable hunger of the Necron war machine. Entire civilizations were extinguished, their histories erased as if they had never existed.
