Miranda and Silence

The Miranda Warning is a legal requirement in the United States that police officers must provide to individuals who are under arrest or in custody before interrogating them. It informs the individuals of their rights under the U.S. Constitution, particularly the Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and the Sixth Amendment right to an attorney.
