Liliʻuokalani Gardens

If you can't go to the beautiful Liliʻuokalani Gardens of Hilo, Hawaiʻi, you can still bring the gardens to you! This charming watercolor was painted by Native Hawaiian artist Donald Namohala Yuen when he was a student at Hilo High School, in the mid 1940s. Liliʻuokalani Gardens is a traditional Japanese style park. Located in Maka Oku, Hilo, Hawaiʻi, it is freshened by sea breezes and commands a view of Hilo Bay. Beautifully landscaped, it is an ideal location for picnics, strolling, and weddings, and also offers lovely quiet spaces for solitude and meditation.
