Stations of the Cross - Station 2 A modern day digital depiction on a greeting card of Station 2 wherein Jesus carries the cross. Stations of the Cross or the Way of the Cross may also be known the Way of Sorrows or the Via Crucis. The Stations of the Cross refer to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers. The stations grew out of copies of Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that is believed to be the actual path Jesus walked to Mount Calvary. The purpose of the stations is to help Christians through a spiritual pilgrimage through the contemplation of the Passion of the Christ.
