Home Decor -- Arts & Crafts Style

When the Industrial Age burst on the scene in the late 1800's there were outcries from the skilled craftsman (carpenters, potters, blacksmiths, etc.) who were rapidly finding themselves shoved aside by corporations looking to grow their businesses & profits exponentially via the new mass commercial manufacturing technology. Out of the jobs they knew and loved, and unimpressed by the standardized factory wares, groups of these Artisans began to form on opposite sides of the U.S. and across the Atlantic in England, for the purpose of preserving the hand-crafted traditions and the human warmth of their art. They knew there would always be a market for their creations - and over a century later, they've proven themselves right. The original images on products featured in this collection were inspired by the Arts & Crafts Movement or in a few cases, are direct derivations (such as the use of William Morris' textile and wallpaper designs).
