Hilma af Klint | Primordial Chaos

In 1906, Hilma af Klint began working on her first abstract series, which she titled Primordial Chaos. It’s part of her larger primary body of work, The Paintings for the Temple. Conceived as an ordered progression of compositions, the 26 small canvases that make up Primordial Chaos illustrate the birth of the world and the dualities that the artist believed were a central principle of life.
