Alphonse Mucha, Reverie (Daydream)

Alphonse Mucha (Czech, 1860–1939) was a leading Art Nouveau artist. Rêverie (1898) was designed as an in-house calendar for the Champenois company. However, it immediately became so popular that Léon Deschamps, chief editor of the artistic and literary magazine La Plume, offered to make it available to a larger public, as a decorative panel (poster without lettering).
