A vintage illustration by Frances Brundage of two little blonde sisters in their nightgowns who are excited to help Mommy with the new baby in the family. The mother sits in a chair with the baby on her lap as the oldest of the two sisters comes close and reaches out as if she wants to hold the baby. The artist, Frances Brundage (1854-1937) was born in Newark, NJ and was best known for illustrations of beautiful, adorable children on postcards, calendars, and holiday cards, particularly Valentines. She later lived and worked in Washington, D.C., Massachusetts and New York. She was ahead of her time in that her diverse artwork also included Native American, African American, Dutch and Irish children.
